As the culmination of over a year of development and a complete overhaul under the hood, UDA ConstructionSuite now combines the power of cutting-edge technologies such as Microsoft® SQL Server, Microsoft® Visual Basic .Net, and Infragistics® to deliver the most tightly integrated, multi-functional application for construction professionals.
High Performance. High Capacity.
One of the greatest technological advancements for the ConstructionSuite system is the inclusion of Microsoft® SQL Server, one of the most robust platforms for storing, managing, and integrating data across multiple applications. The new ConstructionSuite interface now directly connects with information from the database - loading and writing live data as if it were all a single file.
During the transition to a database-managed system, UDA engineers externalized much of the code and encapsulated it into dynamically linked libraries - significantly decreasing file size and increasing performance. With the new multi-part save, information is easily repurposed throughout the system, allowing for faster internal and external data replication. And, since data is stored dynamically within a database instead of the Windows file system, users benefit from rapid file access, comprehensive system backups, faster synchronizations, and greater security for their most vital business information.
Additionally, SQL Server provides unmatched scalability - enabling small and large corporations alike to grow in size and information management needs without having to change database solutions. For these companies, the database-driven application delivers faster and easier updates, greater stability in high-demand situations, more robust transaction logging, and a stronger ability to propagate data across all users on a network. In future ConstructionSuite versions, the new database will also allow for permissions-based access, giving further administrative control in network versions.
Net Benefits. Redefined.
As the state-of-the-art platform to connect information, systems, and devices in the Microsoft family of products, VB.Net produces significant advantages for ConstructionSuite in terms of increased stability and future compatibility with Windows-based software. Designed as a next generation application development platform, VB.Net is ideally suited for rapid development of versatile, data-driven applications. By using VB.Net as a part of the Microsoft .Net 2.0 common language run time family, ConstructionSuite will be able to be more quickly and easily integrated with web-based services and applications programmed in other frameworks such as C++.net, C#.net, and J#.net, just to name a few.
Plus, the move to .Net signals a giant step forward in development and deployment of web-based services from UDA Technologies. So now, ConstructionSuite not only includes a solid foundation that is more stable and secure, but it also opens the door for multiple new products and integrations that will continue to increase productivity for construction professionals.
Easy to Use on a Whole New Level
To top off the technology transition for the ConstructionSuite system, UDA engineers took advantage of sophisticated Infragistics controls to provide optimal user experience. NetAdvantage, the premier Presentation Layer Control Set from Infragistics, solidified the standardization across ConstructionSuite and offered more options for users over the appearance of windows and forms. Beyond aiding in ease-of-use for clients, the new format includes advanced tree views, multi-banded column sets, and UltraGrids, which all combine to give users unprecedented control over how they view information throughout the system.
Eyes on the Horizon
As is evident with the release of ConstructionSuite, UDA Technologies is committed to using the latest tools available to engineer, implement, and deliver unmatched solutions for the construction industry. The newest technologies used for the development of ConstructionSuite have led to a powerful database-driven system that surpasses the level of integration, user control, and functionality offered by other construction software products. As the user base for ConstructionSuite grows, UDA engineers will once again turn their attention to creating the next generation of construction software solutions, including a stand-alone CRM system and a family of web-based project management services.
