Using Password Protection in Document Management

You can control access to your ConstructionSuite documents with password protection.

Apply password protection

  1. In an open document in Microsoft Word, click the Password Protect button on the Document Management toolbar located in the Add-Ins tab.

  2. Type the case-sensitive password in the dialog box and click OK.

  3. Re-type the password to confirm and click OK.

  4. Go to File > Save to save the document. Next time it is opened, users will have to enter the correct password to view and edit the document.

p WARNING:  If you lose or forget the password, it cannot be recovered. You cannot open a password protected document without the correct password.

Remove password protection

  1. Open the password protected document and enter the correct password.

  2. Click the Unprotect Document button on the Document Management toolbar.

  3. Go to File > Save to save the document. Your will not need to enter a password the next time the document is opened.
